NAIROBI FASHION MARKET!!

I recently went to the Nairobi Fashion Market and yes it was my first time.
I was so excited to be around people who love fashion and do not just love it but are passionate about it.

Trust me I learnt a lot especially in terms of jewellery. One thing I learnt is that I need to up my game in making my designs because there are awesome pieces out there handmade by Kenyans.

I consider every day a learning lesson and for sure that was a day well spent.

This is what I wore... and believe it or not I was trying to be safe in terms of dressing to avoid paparazzi cause they were every where(it was a fashion event, you expect to find them there). I also learnt I need to believe in my style and stop having doubts as well as being ready for cameras as long as I am in a fashion event. I am for sure attending the next edition.

What do you think of my look?

How to store your jewellery..

We all walk around in the streets, shops, etc and spot some nice jewellery. Temptation creeps in and we buy. (I know I get like that especially for those really unique pieces.). No sooner do we realise we have lots of earrings, bracelets, bangles, necklaces, etc than we start wondering how to store them.
Jewellery is very delicate and if not kept well it gets damaged and tangled with other pieces. It is therefore important to come up with a suitable and fun way of storing jewellery. Remember some jewellery pieces are like treasures. You do not want to see them destroyed. Earring displays can be as original as the jewelry they exhibit. If you're deciding what kind you want, take some time to consider the rest of your jewelry display, and the style and quantity of earrings you plan to put out.
I came across the first three ways of storing jewellery online and thought I share them with you. The other two are my own. I cut an old carton and thought of making a jewellery display for myself. Why buy a jewellery display when I can improvise?*wink* My jewellery does not get destroyed and I am able to access them every day.

Bag Mania

Bags! Bags!.. Other than jewellery I love bags so much. With the right bag you can never go wrong. The coolest thing about bags is that one can buy bags at a ridiculously cheap price and if you want to spend a little more you can also do the same. What is even cooler is buying a designer bag from thrift markets cheaply!
These are some of my newly acquired bags....well may be not all of them, the nude bag is my mum’s as well as the purple purse/wallet and both are Gina Tricot. I, however, managed to buy the black and beige bags at 200Kshs at Alsopps thrift market which at first I could not believe because these bags are so lovely and very trendy. Good bargain!!!
My most treasured bag is this Polini sling bag that I was given as a gift by a friend from a far country. I think this bag is a timeless one because of the material. I hold on to it dearly!!
The black purse I bought at 100Kshs and that is really cheap...who doesn’t love a good bargain!

ALICE BANDS

I bought these Alice bands 1 year ago and I really find them so cute and fun wearing them. I have not worn them in a long while, which is a shame.  I will make a point of wearing one!!! An Alice band worn the right way would never go wrong on an ensemble. It also shifts the focus on bad hair.

I also want to learn how to make them.Anything beautiful is worth learning how to make.

What do you think of Alice bands?
Love or hate them?
